The stunning backless dress donned by Keira Knightley in the Oscar-nominated film Atonement, is being auctioned online for charity.
The auction opened on 1st of February and is due to close on 1st of March, with a minimum bid of £500, so ladies you have less than a month to raise the funds and slim down to a size 0. You can place a bid on http://clothesoffourback.org . The proceeds will go to Variety – The Children’s Charity of Southern California which is a non-profit organisation that assists addicted, abused, neglected and physically-challenged children.
Knightley is depicted wearing the emerald green gown as Cecilia Tallis in the memorable romantic scene with James McAvoy. It was taken directly from the production’s archives and has been authenticated by costume designer Jacqueline Durran, who has been nominated for an Academy Award for her work on the film. Atonement is up for six further Oscars at this month’s Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
